ABSOLUTE RONGALI BIHU CELEBRATION
In Assam Bihu is the most enjoyable festival among others for the Assamese people. Among the three series of Bihu like Rongali, Kongali, and Bhugali bihu, Rongali bihu is considered as the most exciting as well as heart pleasing one.
Preparation for the Rongali bihu is initiated by making different kinds of pithas and laru , such as til pitha, ghila pitha, hutuli pitha etc. Basically, this Bihu is celebrated in seven different types of Bihu. Among the seven kinds of bihu, the first one is called as 'Goru bihu'.
Goru Bihu is celebrated on the last date of the last Assamese month that is 'Chot'. Collection of the all necessary materials which will be required for the Goru Bihu is done a day before. The market take place for requirement of all necessary materials for the next day is known as ' Uruka bojar'. On the Goru bihu all the farmers used to bath their cows in the water sources like rivers and ponds.
In the evening when the cows return back to their homes, they are fed with a special pitha and many other events take place.
The actual meaning of arranging such kind of arrangements is to get ready them for cultivation.
MANUH BIHU
Just next to the Goru bihu, 'Manuh
Bihu' is celebrated in full swing. This is the first day of Assamese year and the Assamese year is counted in 'Bhaskarabda'. On this day all the people take their bath with grinded pulses and turmeric, according to the assamese tradition. After taking a fresh bath people went to the 'Namghar' for praying and bowed down in front of that almighty.
There are still five kinds of Bihu remaining as the Rongali bihu lasts for about a week. They are as follows,
On the occasion of Gosain Bihu, the Gods are worshipped and traditional songs are sung in their praise seeking protection and blessing for a good harvest.

People usually visit the houses of their relatives and bond together over a meal and exchange new stories.
SENEHI BIHU
It is the day that is reserved exclusively for lovers. The day symbolises love and reproduction. On this day youths meet their beloved and give them gifts usually known as “Bihuwan”.
