Today is a great day for me as a professional Electrical Engineer! Let me explain in detail to express my joy of learning something new by hands on experimentation with live industrial systems. By explaining the learnings in this way I feel a great relief from my heart and quickly attain a state of complete BLISS…!

So let me explain in detail pointwise..

• I've been working in this great organization from the past 1.5 years. But I never been into such deep hands on experimentation with an electrical equipment

• I would say the reason due to not getting involved into the deep analysis and understanding of the electrical equipments was due to the growing pressure of the project works and not having a great teammate with a bit of same level of skillset.

• But fast forward to this date I will say I'm with a great team of engineers that encourages me to explore, try and learn new things on a regular basis. As a result of this new team members presence, the teammates (only 1 actually) of our existing team also gets encouraged and get involved in today's great exploration and learning experience

• Today we have partially dismantled and completely understood the functioning and operation of the Air Circuit Breaker. 

• The reason behind this work is that we're not able to Turn ON this Breaker because the Ready status is not coming OK. Later we resolved this issue and the status becomes OK as shown in the following images…!

• So we're having this Siemens make ACB of rating 1600A. It has many interlocks to operate safely. One of the interlock is the READY status of the Breaker. It means if this Ready is OK then only we can Close the Breaker otherwise if we try to forcefully Close it then it may malfunction or in short it will damage the electro-mechanical interlock mechanism as we can see in the naked ACB image.

• In short the main root cause was the Under Voltage (UV) Coil inside (right side coil) which was not energized and as a result the Ready was not OK. It's called UV Coil because when there will be actual Under Voltage condition then the Coil will not be energized and it's plunger will not get inside to release the Ready OK status mechanical contacts. And when there is adequate 220VAC supply then the coil will operate and make the Ready Statius OK.

• There are 2 more coils, one of which is also causing the Ready status becoming not OK:

• One is Close coil and another is Shunt or Open coil.

• These coils are for remote operation. Means we can remotely Turn ON and OFF the Breaker

• The Shunt coil is by default is energized due to which the Breaker is getting the OFF command and hence the Ready status is not becoming OK.

• So by rectifying this two crucial issues we get the Breaker status OK

Here I'm explaining in short because I understood the matter very closely with my hands touching and fixing each components. But we literally standing in front of the Breaker up to 7-8 hours figuring out what actually went wrong with it. And it is actually worth it. The core components of a Breaker that we're ignoring  from last year from during the commissioning period, just clicked in our minds in few hours. And it was possible due to the belief of our seniors in us who gave us the freedom to play with the equipment safely and explore in our own pace…!

Today I'm reading a book The Great Challenge by Osho. Between the pages I gone through the lines as follows:

"Here's a thought came to my mind after treading this piece of philosophical thought. The word ugliness has struck something into my mind. I always try to see patterns in the existence or in nature, through which I can relate the things and understand the working if the nature/existence. Now when we look into the natural creatures, we see various patterns. For example a herd of Zebra or a pride of Lions have almost lookalike appearances. In this way if we look at almost all the natural creatures has the same pattern of appearance, means you cannot say this Lion looks majestic and this lion looks odd or bad. Now if we see the level of intelligence of the creatures then irrespective of the intelligence of all the all creatures the appearance of the creatures are the same. Unlike the humans where we can observe randomness in this regard. Means what I want to point out here is that the nature by default create the best possible outcome as we have seen in case of all the creatures. Nature does the same thing with the Humans as well as we are all handsome and beautiful. But we sometimes see the odds in this regard like some ugly looking person. That oddness is created due to the interference of human intelligence with the Nature's intelligence. In the process of creating the beat possible outcome nature faces the bad effects of human desires and thoughts which I think interrupts the normal natural creation. And this results in the ugly human formation with various other defects which a normal natural human being doesn't have!"

These are my raw thoughts that I captured in mind by putting them into my journal. I named my journal as Impact Journal and I note every piece of sacred thoughts to great ideas in this journal with this super awesome name which inspires me to write something in this notebook everyday!!

So let's get back to the topic of today's insightful talk.
