The motive of this post is to publicly maintain a documentation of my efforts to pursue something deeply so that in future I can say to myself, "Yes man you've tried. And tried meaningfully with as much intensity as you can!"
Here's the exact copy of the message that I've sent to a respected college professor yesterday (8/11/2022).
----------------------------------------------------
A very Good Morning Ma'am ☀️
Ma'am as you've advised me to talk with a councillor about the Power Trading job role, so I've consulted with a TATA Power employee/Power Trader by networking on LinkedIn. He is a nice guy and we talked almost half an hour, he's from UP Noida.
He said there is no direct path to enter into this role after b.tech so he strongly advised me to at first get into a power plant and then request for or get qualify for this trading role. Also he strongly advised me to study hard for GATE, if I able to get in an IIT or NIT for M.tech then companies directly hire for this role.
Ma'am please I request you to take a break and arrange some time to read the following content as now I'm going to reveal my story!!
Okay so I got the path and professional advice to that specific role. But now from my heart I have a strong passion to pursue Entrepreneurship . And the recent two seminars by respected MD APGCL and Director of operations OIL, has ignited my zeal to pursue my passion.
To prove my passion towards entrepreneurship here are the two cases:
1. In mid 2020 during lockdowns as everyone was locked inside homes I and my best friend Sonu was exploring the possibilities of delivering essential items by specially designed Drones as delivery through air is both fast and efficient. So we quickly dive into the planning and execution mode. By convincing our parents with sophisticated communication and objection handling skills that I've acquired from working in a marketing company (from Jan-Mar 2020), we've managed to arrange 47000 rupees and actually built a drone from scratch. We kept adding additional components to the drone time to time as it's required to perform the tasks we want by learning from internet resources and online drone communities.
Here's the video of the drone we've passionately built:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuihmvKZhFc
But to achieve the high precision in performing a delivery task we had required an advanced version of a component called Flight controller which costs 24000. And now we can't convince our parents more as they've already invested a lot.
2. So I decided to make some money by myself working with a startup to revive our own startup. So I joined the Guwahati based service providing startup QuickGhy as a Business Development Intern and later this year I got promoted to a Business Development Associate. Here I learned to solve day to day business operation problems and understood the customers and service partners pain points. But as this is a bootstrapped startup with no funding so it pays a very low salary and it won't even covered by expenses. So I resigned from it along with the Operation Manager Sunita Deshmukh last September. (Have the call recordings also of the post resignation discussions)
Here's my LinkedIn profile link that shows I worked there:

After quitting I started preparing slides for our startup pitch presentation for a competition organised by Assam Startup this mid September. I got to know about it after attending a seminar by a manager from Assam Startup in our college room no 7.
After participating in the competition, we got to know that our startup is ahead of time and the market is not prepared for this service especially in Assam according to the judges from IIM Calcutta. So they advised us to work on some more real world problem and find out a feasible solution.
We got demotivated but realized our mistake.
Now after attending the recent seminars, both the Directors strongly insisted on the point that we need more talent and innovation on the green energy sector to solve huge problems.
So Ma'am I desperately seek guidance from you to show a path to COLLABORATE with the teams who are already investing and working to find out the solutions to produce Green Hydrogen as Fuel at scale initiated by OIL and operations are going on in Jorhat.
With 88% in 10th and 84% in 12th I actually don't deserve the category of below 80% in engineering. But I accept my fault that I was experimenting with my life without formal guidance and allocating my energy into various domains. This is the actual reason why my cgpa is declining.
I'm representing this topic of collaboration with teams to work on the challenges on behalf of Manash Jyoti Das, Bikash Sharma and Kristen Sinha. They're hesitating to talk on this openly. So I'm representing it honestly with my own background.
I'm going to Jorhat on coming 19th November. So please give me a connection known to you who is working in the hydrogen fuel project by OIL so that I can visit there and get an overall understanding of the processes going on there.
Ma'am we can talk on this on call or in college tomorrow if you're feeling uncomfortable to type here.
Thank you so much for your time 🙏🏻
